18 Yard Box brings to all football fans, the latest happenings of the Beautiful Game
Another day and a whole loads of interesting events unfold. This time it's Wenger's frustration, Sir Alex's mind games and much more. Have a look.
Wenger left 'frustrated' by Walcott
You know what I want |
The 23-year old winger is on the last year of his contract and he Gunners run risk him losing him for free at the season.
With contract talks on going, Walcott is not budging from his initial asking price of 100,000 euros per week. If Arsenal do fall into his demands he will become the highest earning player at the club. However, this does not looks to be happening as Wenger has offered him a contract in the range of 80,000 to 90,000 euros.
Walcott is yet to sign the contract and when asked about this the French manager said, "I have no news. I am frustrated He knows what I want and he has to make up his mind."
Sir Alex adds fuel to fire
Who will prevail? |
With the Manchester Derby approaching on Sunday, Sir Alex has played his instalment of his mind games. Very often United have been scrutinized for having penalty decisions going their way and Sir Alex practically jokes, "The number of penalty kicks they get - 21 in the last year or something like that. If we got that number of penalty kicks there'd be an inquiry in the House of Commons. There'd be a protest"
He also mentioned that the rivalry for top spot has shifted hands with United being a constant. He mentioned that City are their biggest threat in the Premier League at present.
Sterling to Manchester United ?
Will he be a United player? |
With Raheem Sterling showing signs of troubles during negotiations with Liverpool, Manchester United are ready to pounce on the impressive teenager. Sir Alex Ferguson, himself is fascinated by watching Sterling's mesmerizing performances for their bitter rivals, and that exactly has seen him give Liverpool a hint of a probable transfer. He has shown that the animosity among the two clubs will not stop him from moving for his targets when he made a move for Steven Gerrard some years back.
Although how Liverpool fans' would feel on hearing this is unknown, it will not stop them from hating Manchester United all the more. But the pain of losing one of their brightest talents, who could help the Merseysider's back to the pinnacle of both domestic and European football, will hurt endlessly.
